How To Make Green Sea Turtle Models
This post will go over the casting and painting of our line of green sea turtles, hawksbill, turtles, and others. As we move into July, we are making specific turtle replicas for Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument Mokupápa Discovery Center located in Hilo, Hawaii. These models will be on display soon. NEW MAKERPRO PAINT TESTING AND DEVELOPMENT SUMMARY.
Smooth-On and Reynolds Materials both provided solid education for use of their materials. You can find MakerPro Paint at: https://www.smooth-on.com/products/maker-pro-paint/. By adding the adhesion promoter, we found that the paint stuck to the Flex-Foam 17 underlayment quite well. A two part silicone sealant is then applied for protection. This allows the individual models to easily be cleaned. The original turtle models are taken from mold sets of our exclusive sculptures.
